The idea is worked out before the day.
The brief comes after the deposit, so no time is lost on either side. If there's no brief, or the session is under 72 hours away, Canvs adds a 30-minute consult before the tattoo. It isn't charged, so build it into your rate.

Questions
What does it cost me?
Nothing to join and nothing off your rate. Canvs adds a 10% fee on top of the price you quote and the person booking pays it, so a $720 session bills them $792 and you receive $720. Stripe's processing fees come out of our share.
How do tattoo deposits work?
You choose a deposit from 20 to 50% of each booking. The person booking pays it when they book, and it goes straight into your own Stripe account. The balance is charged when you declare the session complete.
How is a tattoo priced on Canvs?
From your hourly rate, your hours for each size, and your multipliers for style, colour and placement. The person booking sees one price before they book, so there's no quoting in the DMs.
Can people book a tattoo without messaging me?
Yes. They pick one of your open times, pay the deposit and send a written brief. No back and forth in the DMs.
Where does the money go?
Straight to your own Stripe account, so you are the merchant of record and the funds are yours from the moment they clear. If you're employed by a studio, your bookings are paid to the studio instead.
Do I have to leave Instagram?
No. Keep posting as you do now and put your Canvs link in your bio. After someone taps it you get a written brief instead of a DM, and a deposit instead of a maybe.
What if someone tries it on?
The deposit is already in your Stripe account before the day. You set your own cancellation policy, shown before anyone pays, and Canvs applies it.
Who owns my portfolio and my bookings?
You do. Your images and your page are yours, and you can walk away whenever you like.
